INVEST IN OUR COMMUNITY
Morgan Tennis Courts are nestled within Minnehaha Creek Park, positioned in a prime location in the Lynnhurst Neighborhood of South Minneapolis. Morgan Courts have provided countless hours of tennis for neighborhood and community members. Unfortunately, the courts have fallen into such serious disrepair that they can no longer be used, forcing the Washburn High School Boys’ and Girls’ tennis teams to drive 30 minutes outside the city and closing this location for the InnerCity Tennis Summer in the Parks program.
The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board has approved and secured partial funding to completely rebuild the courts. Because they don’t have the resources to fund the entire project, our nonprofit, ‘Support the Courts/Love Morgan Courts,’ is rallying community members and tennis aficionados to invest in our courts and in our community. Every dollar counts, let’s smash this out of the park!

SUPPORT THE COURTS MISSION
Support the Courts Foundation is an all-volunteer non-profit organization engaged in a citywide effort to reconstruct and upgrade public tennis facilities in Minneapolis. Working with city leaders, park officials, neighborhood organizations, corporations, the United States Tennis Association and hundreds of individual donors, we have reconstructed 25 tennis courts so far.
Minneapolis has a world-class park system, and tennis courts are a critical element of these parks. Public parks are part of the fabric of Minneapolis and contribute greatly to the quality of life in the city.
Tennis is an essential activity for kids in Minneapolis. The tennis courts are safe places to play. Tennis keeps kids out of trouble and helps them develop positive values and attitudes and healthy lifestyles. Kids playing tennis is an important antidote to crime and socio-economic disparity in the city.
